Wedding at the Postcard Inn Beach Resort - Islamorada, FL - Desiree + Seth
We have shot so many gorgeous weddings back to back in the past few months that it was tough to choose one that was going to go up on the blog. With the “chilly” weather in Miami today, it made us reminisce of a more tropical climate… and you don’t get more tropical than the Florida Keys! So today we are taking the initiative to virtually transport you to a place synonymous with paradise - Islamorada, FL, with a glimpse at Desiree and Seth’s beautiful beach wedding.
We would like to start off by saying that Desiree and Seth are perhaps the sweetest people on the planet. You may have seen their engagement session photos on the blog back in September. We thought back then that they could not have looked any happier than they did the day of their engagement shoot - we were wrong! They outdid themselves on the day of their wedding with the biggest smiles we have ever seen! Their happiness just shone extra bright that day.
It all took place at The Postcard Inn located on Mile Marker 84 in Islamorada. Many of their guests joined the couple in staying on property and partied together in anticipation of the big day. This recently updated resort was perfect for their destination wedding that was not too far for these Miami locals but far away enough from the city to feel a world away! Home to the world famous Tiki Bar, this oceanfront playground was simply fitting for such a fun couple to say their I Do’s.
We arrived to the venue early to catch all the preparation that went into their wedding day. This allowed us time to capture all of the details that make a wedding unique - the dress, the shoes, the gifts, etc. Desiree was surrounded by her girls as she got primped and prepped while Seth hung out with his friends right before he got suited up. We just love catching all these little moments!
The ceremony was held ocean side - right on the beach. Guests gathered as they witnessed the two tying the knot in the most beautiful way. These two couldn’t keep their eyes off each other! Shortly after Desiree and Seth exchanged vows, we were there - list in hand, to document their formal family photos. Even their fur babies got in on the family shots!
The newlyweds were able to mingle with their guests at cocktail hour as the sun went down. Dinner and speeches followed right before the party got started…and once it did, it was non-stop fun! It was no wonder that with such an outgoing couple, they would have an equally fun bunch of friends and family. They danced so much! In addition, we set up our open-air Photo-Booth near the dance floor and it was a huge hit all night! There is something about handing someone a funky hat or a Super Mario Brother mask that transforms them! Everyone was getting in on our Photo-Booth and taking home a 4x6, high-resolution keepsake photograph. It makes the perfect wedding favor and the best part with our booth, the photographs are unlimited so guests can come back for more photo fun and the bride and groom receive all the digital files. This is awesome because they get to see all the fun (and sometimes crazy) photos their guests took home with them at their wedding.
Overall, the whole day was magical and we would love to be back at that beach just to do it all over again. We hope that this blog brings you a little warmth on this “cold” Miami day (not to mention our Northern friends experiencing snow!)
