Wedding in Capri, Italy | Peter + John
A few months ago, we posted a sneak peek from Peter and John’s welcome dinner in Capri, Italy. That event in and of itself was remarkable. Between the unique décor, the delicious Italian food, and upbeat music from the local folk band, it was truly a night to remember for all of us that attended. How does anyone top that? The answer is, by getting married the next day overlooking the majestic Amalfi coast!
We have waited too long to post about this fabulous wedding! As promised, and about time, we are sharing some of our favorite highlights from Peter and John’s Italian wedding. For those of you who don’t know, this wedding is extra special to us because not only was it spectacular, but it was the union of two very important individuals – my brother Peter and my new brother-in-law John! Not only did I have the distinct pleasure, along with our sister, of walking my brother down the aisle, but Santy was honored to capture all the moments from their big day.
The day started at the Villa where John and Peter enjoyed a peaceful morning surrounded by family and overlooking the vistas of Capri. When it was time to get ready, they helped each other get into their wedding attire and made sure every detail was in place. They both looked incredibly attractive! As the rest of the family was putting on their own finishing touches, the grooms along with their kids (and Santy of course) headed off in the coolest car along the coastline to take some portrait and family shots. As a photographer, the photo backdrop this Italian island had to offer was simply a dream to shoot!
Friends and family gathered at the ceremony site at the iconic Il Riccio Beach Club and Restaurant in Anacapri. The wedding procession consisted of the grooms combined five children who did a great job! I am always telling the wedding party to smile as they walk down the aisle- as you can see I forgot my own advice as I held back my own tears of joy! The ceremony was heartwarming and eloquently officiated. The only thing more beautiful than the sun setting that evening were the vows exchanged by Peter and John!
Guests were wowed as they entered the reception space. Capri Moments outdid themselves with the dreamy tablescape lined with little orange trees, lemons, and white flowers. It was oozing with Mediterranean flair and simply stunning! The décor really touched all the senses as the smell of citrus overtook the air and added to the overall experience. Guests were delighted to an array of the most delicious Italian cuisine including the famous “temptation room” that really earns its name – so many tempting treats!
The remainder of the evening was reserved for dancing and celebrating the night away. There was definitely no shortage of good music and great company. It was wonderful to look around and see so many guests who traveled so far in order to celebrate love! That’s amore!
