Savannah's 2nd Birthday - Disney Cruise

Today we are taking a break from our regularly scheduled wedding and engagement session photos to share with you a very special post.  Our little girl just turned two years old!  It seems like Santy and I were just shooting a wedding with my big belly in tote and here we are with a full-grown toddler.  Time really flies!  If you follow our social media accounts, you would know that we are big Disney fans and like to call Walt Disney World our second home.  This year, to keep up with our Disney obsession, our little family decided to take off on a Disney Cruise to commemorate Savannah’s special day.  It is safe to say that an amazing time was had by all!

If you have been on the fence on whether or not take the kiddos on a Disney Cruise, I am here to persuade you to do it.  It was worth every penny.  From the moment we stepped onto the ship we were greeted by name as cast members cheered for us.  The Sail Away party on the main deck was spectacular and set the tone for the trip as we danced along with Mickey and his friends at the high-energy dance party.  Our stateroom was awesome with the coolest port hole overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.  Savannah just loved sitting on its ledge and looking out!  If you are into Broadway like I am, then you will be in awe at the shows.  We saw two shows including a stage adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.  I literally teared up because it was so beautiful.  The Disney Dream has three main dining rooms – the Royal Palace, the Enchanted Garden, and our favorite, the Animator’s Palate – all on rotation the three nights.  We had the same servers rotate with us and they were so much fun and really made Savannah’s birthday celebration special!!

We spent Saturday exploring Nassau, Bahamas before we got ready for pirate night back on the ship. Don’t worry if you “landlubbers” left your pirate attire back home, Disney provides you with cool bandannas to sport.  If you are not familiar with pirate night, it’s a big celebration where Mickey and friends all dress up like pirates and put on a show.  Later that night, the Pirates in the Caribbean (see what they did there) show takes place on deck followed by a spectacular firework display and a pirate dance party.  Be prepared for a lot of dance parties!  We learned that Savannah is quite the party animal!   Sunday, we headed over to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.  Bobby and I woke up early and ran the 5K (we had to burn off that buffet food somehow!) The rest of the day was spent lounging at the beach, swimming in the crystal-clear Bahamian water, splashing around, and of course, eating more delicious food! That night was the grand farewell party and the kids got to meet all their favorite characters again as they said good-bye – it was so nice!

I could go on and on about the other activities on board, but I think you should book the cruise and experience it for yourselves!

Please take a moment to view our vacation video with some of our favorite highlights from the trip.  We know Savannah had a fabulous second birthday!
