Miami Engagement Session | Firefighter | Perez Art Museum | Tai + Jesus
Do you love a good soul mate story? We do! Taiane and Jesus are two people that were simply meant to be together. We learned that it all started with a surprise party - two surprise parties to be exact! The first one was back in June of 2012 - Through mutual friends, Jesus and Tai were both asked to help plan a surprise birthday party, they talked over the phone and texted for days. The night of the party, they met in person and hit it off right away. They went on 3-4 dates but the timing just wasn’t right and they went their separate ways. But this is a story about soul mates, so you know it didn't end there! Fast forward to December 2017 (5+ years later), he sees a picture of Tai on social media and falls in love all over again! He contacted her through Facebook chat and they have been inseparable ever since.
If you are still reading, you may be asking about the second surprise party. So Jesus is a firefighter here in Miami, FL and was forced to be away from home for a total of 33 days in two back-to-back deployments for Hurricane Florence and Michael, respectively. On Sunday, October 21, 2018, on what was supposed to be HIS surprise birthday & welcome home party...Jesus proposed to Tai! Turns out, he knew all along and the surprise was on her!
Luckily for us, Tai said yes which led them to contact us at Photography by Santy Martinez. We are excited to share some highlights from their engagement session. The shoot started at the Perez Art Museum Miami, then a Firehouse in Downtown Miami, and ended on a Fire Boat! It was a fun session to say the least. We are ecstatic that these soul mates chose us to document such a sweet time in their lives and we hope you enjoy the following images.
