Wedding | Hotel Colonnade Coral Gables | Plymouth Congregational Church | Maria Elena + Michael

We are back in sunny South Florida from our road trip to Atlanta, GA where Photography by Santy Martinez recently shot a special wedding that will soon be up on the blog.  If you have been following along, you may have noticed that we have frequented this cool Southern city, including the time that we captured Maria Elena’s and Michael’s engagement session at Piedmont Park. You see, these two Florida natives have made Atlanta their home, but when it was time to tie the knot, they did so right here in Miami.  Surrounded by friends and family from literally all over the globe, their wedding was one not to be forgotten by those in attendance.  It was simply fabulous!

Their day started at the Hotel Colonnade Coral Gables.  Maria Elena, surrounded by her bridesmaids, was getting glammed up by the talented Make-up Artistry by Jessie.  The vibe in the room was so much fun. Make sure to check out their matching socks!  It was all smiles and laughter as she got ready for the big moment she would see her soon-to-be husband.  Before she got down the aisle, Maria Elena made sure she had one last moment, that is, having a priceless first look with dad!

The magic of having two photographers present on your wedding day is the ability to simultaneously capture the bride getting ready as well as the groom.  Although there is usually a lot more of production going on between the makeup, the shoes, the wedding gown… we don’t dismiss the groom’s details!  In Michael’s case, he had a chance to hang out with his groomsmen before it was time to get to the church and get married.

Their ceremony at Plymouth Congregational Church in Coconut Grove was heartfelt and beautiful. As tradition, they rang the church bells to signify that they were married!  Friends and family surrounded them with bubbles as they exited towards the Rolls Royce and champagne waiting for them provided by the always-professional Aralimo.

Back at the Hotel Colonnade Coral Gables, the rotunda was spectacularly decorated with linens by W & W Event Design Group and floral arrangements by Geranio's Flowers.  May we add, all of this has been expertly orchestrated by Events by Gigi – one of Miami’s finest wedding planners.  It was clear by the couple’s reaction that their vision had just become a reality.  Their stage was perfectly set for a night of love, laughter, and dancing!

So. Much. Dancing.  This group only stopped for cake (by Cake Lounge Miami- so good) before they were back on the dance floor!  The music played all night provided by the talents at Event Factor.  They always know how to keep the party going.  And at the end of the night, that was exactly what it was – a party.  A party and celebration of two extraordinary people that decided to spend the rest of their lives together.  We are grateful to have been there to capture this portion of their story.  We hope our photos bring them back to that day and make them smile.  Join us as we congratulate Maria Elena and Michael!
